Week in Review – Was that guy dead?

Sunday
I was so exhausted that I went to sleep super early last night.
I slept a whole hour and a half,
and then tossed and turned for three hours.

Argh.

Monday
House hunting again!
Today I learned:
1) I can only afford houses the size of a shoebox
2) I can only afford houses that, apparently, dogs used to own
3) I’m poor folks.
No, I already knew that one.

Tuesday
I did exactly one productive thing today.

The rest of the day was spent reading,
but sometimes you just need a day like that.

Wednesday
Nothing really interesting happened today.
Except, I may have seen a dead body on the way to work.
Oh, and on the way home,
at 10:30 at night,
I suddenly and inexplicably had a craving
for chocolate pudding.
But that’s it.

Thursday
Two weeks ago, they tore a strip out of the road,

just around a bend where I can’t see it.
I’ve  jolted over that thing every. single. day.
Today I finally remembered to slow down!
They’d filled it in.

Friday
It’s colder than a witches…

well, you know.

Saturday
“What a cold and a rainy day,

where on earth has the sun hid away?”
that 10,000 Maniacs song
always runs through my head
on days like this.

  1. Possible dead guys and cravings for chocolate pudding–sounds like a good start to Halloween to me!

    • Haha, I know! I don’t know if that guy was dead or not, but he was lying face down on the side of the road. There was another guy standing beside him, on a cell phone. He didn’t look too upset, but the whole thing was kinda weird.

As for chocolate pudding, that seems innocent enough, but you never know. I mean, just randomly having a strong urge for something you never eat? That’s weird too.

  2. Try looking into special money that cities and states sometimes have for first time homeowners. I never would have been able to buy my condo without a really low interest rate loan thru the city I live in. There are restrictions for income and what areas you can buy in but overall it’s worth looking into. Call banks and ask if they have any of this money.

Yeah, whenever I see a dead body on my way to work that afternoon I crave chocolate pudding.

    • Patricia, you are strange!

      I like it.

Also, thanks for the tip! With the rates pretty low right now, my bank was able to do pretty well for me, but I can use all the help I can get. I will look into that, for sure. The whole thing is time-consuming and stressful.

  3. Sounds like we’ve been looking at the same houses! Hmmm, chocolate pudding would be good…

    • The dog houses are the worst. I mean, I have a dog, I love my dog – but my dog doesn’t urinate (or worse) all over my house. My realtor told me that when houses are foreclosed on, often times people will leave their pets there and not tell anyone. Then these poor animals are left with not enough food or water, and no way to get out to the bathroom. Isn’t that terrible!? One house we went into had all the carpets pulled up and the smell was still nearly unbearable. All the sub-floor in the entire house needs to be replaced, too – the mess had sunk that far down, through the carpet and padding, and into the wood. Poor, poor animals.

Wait a minute – go back to Wednesday and the dead body… What’s that all about?

    • I don’t know, it was really weird. There was a car and a pickup pulled off the other side of the road; both had their passenger doors open. There was a guy standing by the open door of the pickup, talking on his cell phone. The “dead guy” was lying on the ground, pretty much at the first guy’s feet. I could see him really clearly as I passed (looking underneath the pickup), and I would have thought that he was working on the truck or looking under it. Except that he was lying completely flat on the ground, face down. He wasn’t lying on his back and looking up at the truck. Also, his arms were lying by his side.

I’m sure it was not what I thought, but it was one of the stranger things I’ve ever seen. Maybe he was just planking. 🙂

This happened to me this past sunday( the 30th)!!! I think you jinxed me! I went to bed at 8PM and woke up at 10. I thought for sure the clock would read 6AM. Imagine my shock! So I was up then for hours. I thought of you and this post. Tomorrow is Wednesday, I hope I don’t see a dead body…

    • LOL! I hope not, too! Sorry for jinxing you like that; I had no idea of my own power. Now that I know, I’ve got a lot of thinking to do – should I use my power for good or evil…
