What I learned at my sister’s house

Louis and I spent a few days at my sister’s house last week while she and her family were on vacation. Ostensibly, I was there to feed the fish and take care of the boy’s two cats.    But they also have cable, which I don’t have, and unlimited internet.  So that’s nice.  And they’re in town, which cuts my commute in half. Not that it’s important, but they also have a pool.  Of course, none of those things effected my decision to stay.  I was simply there to feed the cats.  Oh…and the fish.  I’m just nice like that. continue reading…

Hometown Tourist

It’s quite amazing that I left the house on my day off, but I did.

I should clarify:  I left the house and did not go to the grocery store or the dump.

Living in the country not only means trips to the dump; it also means I’m 30 or 40 minutes away from just about everything…which maybe shouldn’t deter me from getting out and about, but it does.  Since I was staying in town this week, I thought I would take the opportunity to do some hometown exploring.  Turns out I need a whole lot more than two days to get that done.  I guess I knew that, but I didn’t realize the scope of what I was missing until now. continue reading…

Where do Home Improvement Projects go to die?

I don’t want to say that my house is a burial ground for Home Improvement projects, because it’s not.

It’s more like a tomb.

Which is to say is that my house is chock full of DIY mummies, preserved just as they were when they gasped their last.

A Snake in the Grass…err…Weeds

So when I got home yesterday, there was an ENORMOUS snake stretched out across my driveway.

Well…there was a snake, anyway.
