Prelude to a podcast

Title Pan 2

You guys- I’m starting a podcast!

Because I want to, that’s why. Silly.

Actually, when I started this blog, it was called “Let me ask you this…” Because I say that all the time. I am a question asker, and I love to know about people, about their lives, what they think about things…just everything.

If you’ve talked to me here or if I’ve ever left a rambling message commented on your blog, then you know I love to talk. And I’ll talk a subject into the ground if I don’t rein myself in.

Sometimes I desperately want to get out of a conversation with someone but I just can’t stop myself from asking things like, “And then what happened?” And I really do want to know, even if I’m not that interested in what they’re talking about. It’s odd.

Wait…I’m always interested in what YOU have to say. Truly!

πŸ™‚

I’m calling my podcast “people I almost know” because that covers everybody. Including myself.

The first episode posts two weeks from today; it’s an interview with newly published author Leanne Shirtliffe. In the meantime, I practiced on my 5 year old niece:

(warning for the faint of heart: farts ahead)

I don’t have a theme other than people – I’m pretty much just going to do whatever I want. I figure I’m old enough now to start living like that.

At least in podcast land.

But I hope you’ll enjoy them too.

      • Tough day, posts such as yours are helping! Thanks for that.

        • I’m sorry to hear that 😦 The first part, I mean. I’m glad to hear the second part πŸ™‚ I’m glad you started blogging – it has helped me a great deal. I’m not ill, but I was becoming something of a hermit. Amazing how much opening yourself up in this virtual world can slowly but surely help you in the “real” world.

  2. Great first podcast. πŸ™‚
Cant believe she didn’t say her name is Penelope and Allison is Towel. Also what an imagination. Thanks for this

    • She did say Allison’s name was Towel at one point, but it was subtle and mixed up with something else. While doing this I realized that I haven’t spent that much dedicated time talking to her in a long time. Mostly before she didn’t have the attention span or I couldn’t understand half of what she was saying. Even at the beginning of this year. But this was fun. And she was pretty quick with the imagination.

  3. Boots,

Awesome kid….. One can only hope she continues to fart freely, I’m sure half of the planet’s gastrointestinal specialists would be out of work next week if more women would follow Amanda’s example.

You sound highly devious in a subtle, straightforward kind of way.

    • Being a delicate female, I debated about editing those out. But then I remembered that I’m not delicate. Actually, I’m working on being more of myself on my blog. I’m honest, but my edges are rougher than I show here. If that makes any sense outside of my head.

As for your other observation…I’m not sure how you got that from the little snippet of interview that I posted. And I would say mischievous rather than devious, but yeah, you pretty well pegged it. πŸ™‚ I find that the more straightforward you play it, the less the other person suspects you of being devious. I mean mischievous.
