Is that your phone or mine?

  1. Great idea. My ringtone would be my neighbor across the street’s annoying car alarm that goes off twenty times a day.

  2. Ha ha! I work with someone whose phone has a young man saying, “Mom! Answer the phone mom! It’s ringing!” I haaaaaaaaaaaaaaate that!!!!

    • It sounds funny, and I thought, “I’d like to hear that!” Once. That’s the problem. Novelties are amusing. Something you hear repeatedly is no longer a novelty; it’s an annoyance.

  3. My husband’s ringtone is a good old fashioned….ring! Go figure! A phone that sounds like a phone! Much better than the ringtones that people must think are cute! Cute? Hmmmm! Funny post!

    • Mine is a plain ring, as well. I kind of wanted something different and cute, but 1) I’m not paying for a ringtone, and 2) all the other ones on my phone sounded so annoying to me. I tried, but finally I just did the regular ring. Ahhh… I can live with that.

I wonder what people thought of the “regular ring” when phones first began to pop up in stores and homes? I imagine it sounded pretty awful to a lot of people 😉 Dadgum newfangled gadgets.

  4. Old enough to remember Mr. T? His door-bell said, “Somebody at the door, Fool!”

    • I definitely am! That sounds kinda cool to me, but that’s one you wouldn’t hear too often, so it wouldn’t annoy so quickly.
