Happy Thanksgiving (or Thursday)

I was supposed to work my office job on Friday, and I was either going to hang out at my sister’s for a bit today or just take it easy at home.  But I woke up yesterday morning with a strong desire to get my work knocked out early and spend a couple of days at the river with my parents.  I wanted the water, and I wanted to spend a little time with my mom and dad.  So here I am – good decision making on my part, I think!

Sometimes you just need to be with your people.  Sometimes you just need to stuff your face with massive amounts of food.  And sometimes you just need to sleep it all off.  I love a holiday that gives me permission to do all three at the same time!

I want to wish a happy Thanksgiving to all of my American friends and a happy regular Thursday to everyone else.  No matter where you are or how you’re spending the day, I hope it’s been a good one!

And I want you to know how thankful I am for you all!

    • Don’t know what happened but I got cut off! I’ll continue here: sometimes we need to allow ourselves the blessing of enjoying our blessings.

      • Very true! I hope you had a good holiday with your family!

  3. So nice to see a river that’s not frozen. 🙂

Happy Thanksgiving! May the only ice you encounter be in your drink. (Ancient Canadian Blessing).

    • Good blessing, haha! I had heard we were getting a severe winter, but nothing has come of that. It’s been oddly warm (then cold, then warm) like last winter. It’s was weird to see your tweets and pictures about snow when I thought it was so early for that. Then I remember where you live! Stay safe and warm and cozy.

I haven’t had my Thanksgiving turkey feast yet (my brother-in-law had to work today so we’re eating late), but I’m sure I’ll think of your post when we tell what we are thankful for this year. All the things you listed are true. Sometimes you just need to… Happy Thanksgiving to you!

    • I often work holidays, so I know what you mean about eating around a work schedule. I hope your meal was as good as the one I enjoyed 🙂 And then there were leftovers, yum! I need to focus more on the thankfuls every day, I’ve been lagging way behind on that, and I know it helps. I guess I’ll add it back to the resolutions again this year.

It was good, thank you. I’m not going to worry about resolutions until after I see if the Mayan prediction comes true and the world ends on December 21st. Why waste my final days? LOL!

  7. Hope you had a wonderful, relaxing Thanksgiving near the water with your family. I think it’s so awesome that you have the ability to be so close to nature, both with your parents and at your home in the country. I’m already looking forward to Christmas so I can relax and read and stuff my face all over again!

    • Thank you, I hope you enjoyed your Thanksgiving, too! I was just looking out of my living room window this morning, thinking how nice it is to live here. As for Christmas, I’m not sure what the plans are for that and if there will be more lovely food to consume, but I sure hope so! I can’t blame you for looking forward to a nice relaxing holiday time, complete with face stuffing! 🙂

  8. What is that cage-like object?

    December 2, 2012
    • Crab trap! My dad had pulled his traps up, and the leaves were gathering around them. Fall on the water, haha!
