Week In Review – Flat tired and chewy wired
Sunday
I’m tired this morning because I stayed up way too late last night.
First, I went on Wikipedia (I heart you Wikipedia) and read the synopsis
for every single episode of The Walking Dead.
You know, because I’m nuts.
Second, I read blogs and watched Charlie and the Chocolate Factory
in an attempt to wash my brain.
Monday
This is day three of 5 days off in a row, kind of a mini-vacation.
When I saw I had a flat tire yesterday, I didn’t want to deal with it.
So I didn’t.
I have a doctor’s appointment tomorrow, and I don’t want to
get stuck changing a tire in the morning, in the cold .
So I did it today.
Tuesday
I have some kind of road hazard something on the tires I bought,
so they repaired my tire for free.
Hurray for free stuff!!
By the way, it’s sunny and warm today.
I’m so glad I put the spare on yesterday,
when it was raining.
Wednesday
Back to the repair shop this morning,
because my car started idling way high on Monday.
Some little critter is chewing through the wires in my car,
one wire at a time. (This is the second chew-through repair so far.)
My cousin tells me there are hundreds of wires in there.
Wonderful.
Thursday
I start my car this morning, and it’s revving super high.
Again.
If this creature has chewed through the same wires,
the very night after I spent $85 on repairing his damage,
I will…I will…I will…
Well, I will be upset.
Friday
A pharmacist called today and said he finally has the dates
for a two-week training course he needs to attend.
Yeah, it starts week after next. Oh, my goodness!
From 0 to 12 shifts to cover in one phone call.
Just when you think you have everything under control,
the rug gets pulled out from under you.
Saturday
Back to the store after my mini-vacation.
It was a long day.
My head hurts, my back hurts, my feet hurt…
I need a vacation.
Update
Sunday’s brain washing didn’t work.
Every time I let Louis out at night, I half expect a zombie
to be standing at the door waiting for us.
All week long.
I keep getting images of zombies coming out of the darkness,
lumbering toward us while Louis is out there.
Conveniently, my zombies are old-school slow monsters
and not the newer breed of the crazy-fast undead.
THIS is why I need to stay away from those movies and that darn show.
But I just had to know what happens.
I’m already wondering about the rest of the season.

You are a braver woman than I am. I never watch scary movies.
I’m not brave at all, I’m just crazy curious! If I hear about something, I want so badly to know what happens. That’s why I love Wikipedia: all the info without having to watch the blood and gore. *shiver* I also read all of the synopsis for American Horror Story, too.
But it backfired on me this time; now I’m daymaring zombies all over the place.
I don’t like scary! But sometimes I forget and watch scary by accident…
Hey, Teddy is already looking older!
That happens to me sometimes, too. Sometimes I don’t know it’s a scary movie until too late, and once I get started, I’m kind of stuck watching the whole thing. I don’t like gore or things that make you jump out of your skin or bad guys who can’t be killed. But there are a couple movies I love that have one or two of those things. I just have to close my eyes at the right times.
LOL I totally get reading the synopsis off Wiki! I do that too because I cannot sit through any box set without knowing what’s going to happen at the end of the season – the suspense just kills me. My husband thinks I’m nuts 🙂
Haha, I don’t think you’re nuts! Just excited to see what happens. It’s like peeking at the end of a book. I have to do that sometimes too. If someone starts talking about a show or movie that sounds interesting, I make them tell me the whole thing. I can still enjoy it, even if I know what’s going to happen.
I LOVED American Horror Story! Talk about creepy. When my kids came home for Christmas we had an AHS marathon and watched the entire season. What a wacky show! (And what a wacky way to spend Christmas)
I don’t have tv reception at my house, so I don’t get to browse around the shows that look interesting. Else I would have taken a real peek at that one instead of jsut reading all the synopsis. It really did look interesting. Actually, that one was on my mind all week, too. One thing I like is that it seems like it could be a kind of really long movie, since they started and ended the story in one season. I think that’s a fantastic idea, because it will always be new to the audience. They won’t have to carrying over the suspense of who is the murderer or whatever hook from season to season just to keep their viewers interested, which also eventually gets the viewers irritated.
I liked the way it ended as well. It will be very interesting to see how they come back next season with a new cast and entirely new storyline. I think you can watch episodes online. Jessica Lange was awesome.
So what happened with the critter feeding on the wires? Found out what it is?
I don’t know what it is, but assume it’s mice or squirrels. Something is leaving empty acorn shells and other detritis in two little pockets that happen to be on either side of whatever these wires are coming out of.
So, I went back to the shop where my cousin works on Monday, and he showed me where this bad little critter chewed through the exact same wires the very day or night after I got them fixed. This time, he was able to re-attach the wires, so I didn’t have to pay for another part. Then he zip-tied the wires up close to something else so they wouldn’t be such a temptation. I got some moth balls and filled the little pockets with them, because the smell is supposed to keep the critters away. I also got some mothball pellets and sprinkled them on the ground and now I park over them every night. So far, so good.
I don’t watch scary movies, or anything that may give my brain free range in the middle of the night.
Yeah, I don’t know what I was thinking about, doing that so late. I knew it, but I just didn’t want to stop reading the story. Normally I don’t have nightmares after that kind of thing, it’s just that I have a hard time even getting to sleep because I can’t shut it off.
