Rise and Shine!

You guys! We slept so late today.

1pm late.

I guess I needed all that sleep, but I hate losing the morning.

And the afternoon, since I haven’t done a darn thing since I got up.

But I do feel way better now. It’s been a long, tough week, and sometimes you just need to decompress a bit.

And sleep 12 hours.

  1. What does 1pm look like from the bed? Shoot. Forget 1pm, what does 8am look like from the bed? I’m in a house full of early risers. Pooey.

    • Lenore! I am such a night person. I’ve worked hard to try and turn myself into a morning person, and I was getting pretty good at keeping my bedtime before 10pm there for a while. But these last three weeks it’s been creeping back later and later. My preference would be 3am bedtime and 11am wake-up. But I have to work, darn it! Mostly when I get these big sleeps, I end up crashing at 6:30 or something and wake up at a “normal” time. Like 8am. 😀

      My sympathies for living with morning people. Truly.

      • I am a night person, too – well, when I can be a night person. If I stay up late (which I call any time after 10pm these days… LAME), I pay the price at 6am when the house wakes. UGH! I love the nights when I know I won’t be up early, of course – I rarely make it past 11:30. 🙂

  3. Today! We drove 18 hours from Texas to northern Ohio yesterday, arrived at 12:30am, and slept until almost 11:00am this morning. I never sleep that late, but 18 hours of driving is exhausting!!!

    • I bet! I think that’s what started mine off too. I drove 15 hours to Vermont then 13 hours back 4 days later. Then I was on the road a few more hours the next day and a few more hours a few days after that. I came back from vacation in worse shape than when I left. Then work was crazy all week – I think you just give out at some point. I woke up feeling much better yesterday, not all worn and twisted out like I had all week, but I have not been motivated to do anything. I got laundry and dishes done this weekend, but that’s it. Oh, and I took the garbage to the dump, so at least I got out of the house once. But I want to go lay down right now, haha!

      I hope you had a great time! Did you go see your daughter or was it just a vacationy kind of trip?

  4. Ummm, today? I have stretches of 4-5 nights in a row that I don’t sleep AT ALL, and then finally, blissfully, I crash. Makes planning a day hard…

    • Oh no, that’s terrible! Not that you slept late today, but going without sleep for several days must be terrible. I know how I feel when I’m just short on sleep by a few hours. I’m sorry to hear that.
