the Infinite Monkey speaks: on money management
Random brilliance from across the blogosphere…
.
If you want to save money, don’t cut coupons, don’t drive around town and waste your time hitting all the sales. Keep it simple. If you want to save money, then don’t spend it. Then you don’t have to work as many hours and you can spend your free time doing things that you actually do enjoy…like drawing on your little brother.

Good post! I remember my dad saying “every time you leave the house, you spend money”. Whether it’s using gas in the vehicle, or the coffee at Timmy’s, or the time you spend NOT working. Keep it simple – only spend what you have. Keep credit cards for emergencies only. Don’t get caught up in the affluent and materialistic society we live in and stop trying to “Keep up with the Jones’s”!
Your dad was right! I wish I had listened to my dad way back when I first started bringing home paychecks, back when all that money was “free” – no bills, no financial responsibilities. I’d have more financial freedom right now if I had taken his advice back then.
It is hard not to want what those Jones’s have, though 🙂
Not spending is a great way to save. 🙂
Ain’t it, though?! I need to work on that not spending thing! It’s not denying yourself, it’s choosing to spend your money differently – saving it up for something even better.
