the Infinite Monkey speaks: on good excuses

Random brilliance from across the blogosphere…

.

I set a goal to start getting up earlier so I could get more accomplished each day; but did you know it’s dark in the morning?  The very first day I realized I wasn’t going to get anything done in the dark.

  1. Oh, how you made me laugh with this one. I am a dedicated night owl, but from time to time guilt drives me to visit the morning world. And these words are EXACTLY what go through my head every time! Then, with glee and relief, I return to my nocturnal ways. 🙂
    Thanks for the day brightener!

    • I’m a night person, too, most definitely. It’s on my resolution list to try and convert myself to a morning person, but…

As soon as I saw his post, I knew this was the excuse for me! It spoke to me! – it’s the one that made me laugh the hardest for sure.

Plus it’s, like, totally true 😉

  2. I’m right there with all of you! I’ve always been a night owl but periodically resolve to get up earlier “to get more things done.” I wind up making excuses, shuffling around the house aimlessly, and get less done in the evenings because I’m so tired from getting up earlier! Getting up early in the summer to beat the heat is torture for me, too.

    • I’m always glad to hear I’m not alone in my ways! I think Patricia is a night person, too, so there are more of us.

The best I’ve ever felt rested is when I worked late shift at an amusement park. I got off between midnight and 2 am, asleep by 4 or 4:30 am (when yearstricken gets up, yes AM!), up again by 11am. It was the perfect schedule for my internal clock.

Of course, I was also 18, but I’m sure that had nothing to do with it.

  3. I get up early to get more done so I can take a nap in the afternoon 🙂
