I'm a writer and photographer, sometime poet and philosopher, who is figuring out who she was meant to be.
AHHHHH! Bees!
I’ve never been stung by a bee, so I’m afraid of them.
Cool pics though!
Thank you! I was nervous because I had to get the camera right on them – almost touching. I kept expecting to get charged, but they were too intent on the pollen, I guess.
I got stung every single summer, at least once, from about 3rd grade to maybe 9th. I knew it was coming, just not when. One summer, I kept expecting the sting and it never happened. That was a good summer! Funny the things that make a big impression on you, huh?
I just got stung by a yellow jacket yesterday, the little bas…jerk.
Hahahah! Nice save…. I love bees although I have been stung. When I started putting in native plants in my garden a whole bunch of tiny, native bees turned up. They come in surprising colors and are not aggressive. Now, ground bees… those are another matter. The little bas…jerks!
So funny! I read on a blog recently that if you’re saying it, without saying it (like putting *’s where some of the letters should be, or in my case little dots…) then you should just go on an say it because everyone knows what you’re saying anyway. But I’m trying to run a clean blog here, so I settled for the dots, even though that sting made me want to come right out and say it.
I’ve never seen bees in anything but the “normal” colors, like yellow. I bet their pretty – I think these bees are pretty, but I do have a healthy respect for what kind of pain those small things can inflict. I am very afraid of the yellow jackets currently encamped at the base of my porch steps, mostly because they have kind of swarmed me twice. It’s scary to all of a sudden have 5 to 7 of those things on you at once and I’m afraid of what they could do if a lot more attacked. I’m especially nervous about my dog, he’s so little and he’s nosy. I’ve been doing my best to keep him away from there and to move him up and down the steps at a run.
