Week in Review – I am not getting sick!

Sunday
As usually happens when I rant about something,
I soon do the same thing that I was complaining about.
Today, I edged off the road and into the gravel
– twice –
while fiddling around with this or that,
when I should have been concentrating on driving.

Monday
I had such a frustrating day at work!
Some days are simply like that, I guess,
but I just couldn’t figure out why
everything was rubbing me the wrong way today.

Tuesday
I was supposed to work at the office today, but I didn’t.
I was so tired and worn out, and that was when I had just woken up.
I took a nap today for the first time in forever,
and woke up feeling the exact same way.
Great…two bad mornings on the same day.ย

Wednesday
I did make it to work today, but I was feeling ill the whole way.
I put in two hours before going home sick.
Another nap – wow!
And I still managed to sleep 12 hours Wednesday night.
I am not getting sick again!

Thursday
Thanksgiving!
We had our’s last Saturday, so today was like a regular work day for me.
Except I was paid time and a half to be there.
Yay!ย

Friday
It was freezing cold at my house tonight!
I received a much-needed fuel delivery on Wednesday,
but I’d gotten so used to the low temperature (to conserve propane)
that I forgot to turn the heat up when I got home
and didn’t even notice until almost bedtime.

Saturday
I went to a baby shower today for my friend’s sister,
who is a great person, and who I think will be a wonderful mother.
She’s 37, which many people consider to be a late start to motherhood.
But to me, she will always be the little sister,
and I kept having the thought, “but you’re just a youngster yourself!”

(This kind of thinking is clearly one of the 7 signs of aging.
The other signs are…

Hmm…I can’t remember.)

.

Items of Interest:

Am I still sick because I’m single? by me (in which I wonder if I was “allowing myself to wallow in sickness”)

just like the pilgrims did it by Amy (in which Thanksgiving day is spent in the wild; includes free giggle)

Thursday, how the turkeys do it… by Patricia (in which I am oddly amused/disturbed by a cartoon)

  1. I know what you mean about trying to conserve some energy. We are doing the same at my house and I just look at everyone and say “hoodies and socks”. ๐Ÿ™‚

    • I’m off today, so I splurged on the heat. And then I started doing my cooking for the week. Now the house is too hot.

      Way to plan.

  2. I think I missed all the signs of aging. I just found myself old one day. I was/am surprised.

    • Apparently I missed them too!

No, I take that back – it’s more like I ignored them.

  3. There really seems to be something going around (well, duh, it does every year I guess!) but I have been needing several naps too, and then running a bit under par. Let’s hope we both shake it this time! You crack me up- 2 bad mornings on the same day! hahahaha…

    • I’m glad you thought it was funny! ๐Ÿ˜‰

I am feeling better now, so I hope your’s doesn’t last long either. I’m just trying to get all my rest each night.

    • Jacky is pregnant. I feel really bad, because it didn’t occur to me until I was on the way home that I should have told you about it. I’m sorry!
