the Infinite Monkey speaks: what’s left on their hands

Today, when I think of a teacher’s chalk covered hands, or a painter’s multicolored features, or even a mechanic’s greased fingernails, something sparks.  I see their hands and I know that they’ve the spent day creating something, building something, making something work and it shows with what’s left on their hands.

Last night I woke myself up coughing my head off because I got a cold from Neph 1. Before buying my house, I would have worried that I’d wake a neighbor. Now, I have the freedom to worry only about dying alone and not being found for days.

I thanked the woman for her help, but of greater importance, I expressed my gratitude for the fact that she’d had the courage to offer assistance. Yes, courage. Why courage, you ask? This woman had taken a chance. She had no idea how her good intentions would be received, but she offered anyway.

…a very good path to joy is to be clear with yourself about what you want, and about what you definitely don’t want.  Give yourself permission to say “no”~ good things will flow into the space you have created.
