the Infinite Monkey speaks: all I need

Random brilliance from across the blogosphere…

.

I have all I need – maybe not all I want – and I know the difference – I am happier already.

  1. So true! I come back to this all the time. But I want, want, want!

    • I struggle with my wants, as well. I’m working on a big “de-cluttering” at my house right now, and I’m putting tons of stuff in a yardsale. And I’m working on not bringing more stuff in to replace what I’ve purged. It’s an ongoing conversation I’m having with myself: “I may want that, but I don’t need it…”

      • I’m working on the same de-cluttering project. I started with books, which isn’t really smart, because I keep reading the books I want to give away. So frustrating–but fun!

        • I started with my books, as well, with similar results. When we set a date for the yard sale, that really lit a fire under me, and I got to serious work. As a result, I am now sitting in my office typing this reply, as opposed to sitting in my living room or dining room. I had started using the office as a junk room, so the desk was piled with papers and bits and pieces. One corner was filled with stuff I didn’t want to get rid of, but had no place for. The floor space was getting smaller and smaller. Week before last, I started tacking that mess, moved my desk, and now have a nice space once again. So, the hard work has been worth it for sure!

  2. Thanks, Michelle. I have to laugh at the “brilliance” part of the tag. Any brilliance I have is definitely random…

    • 🙂

I’ve been holding on to this one for a long time, because I thought I had used a quote from you already. I finally made a list of quotes and bloggers to quick reference, and realized you have not “spoken” yet – so of course I had to get this one on here right away!
